HELP SYSTEM AUTHORING

Many organisations use applications that have been developed for them with little or no consideration for help files or user manuals. Developers can write code, but when it comes to help files or user manuals, most leave a lot to be desired. All large applications are supplied with online-help, user manuals etc. and these are seen as an essential aid to assisting users to get the most out of them.

Here at EnMoS we believe that all of our applications should be supplied with both help files and user manual so that users get the most benefit from using the database application.

We are happy to create both help files and user manuals for existing systems of any sort that you want.

Here are some examples of the different types of help file and user manual that we can produce. They were written for our flagship EnMoS Environmental Monitoring Database.

A typical User Manual in Adobe^® PDF format: EnMoS_Manual.pdf
A Windows compatible Help File: EnMoS_Help.zip
A stand-alone executable help file that can be launched from outside the application: EnMoS_Help.exe
A browser-based help file that can be used from a website: EnMoS_Help.htm

Note: If you are using Windows^® Vista^® you will need to download the Windows^® Help Program: WinHlp32.exe from Microsoft^® to see the Windows^® compatible help file as it is not included with Windows^® Vista^®.
